Moving forward...Like many people in this world, I try to stand up for the greater good - be it hoping for an end to war and armed conflict, ending poverty or healing the environment. But when I look around me to try and do something about it, the answer seems like trying to find a needle in a haystack. To me, club-world is the ideal platform to help incubate vibrant new ways of thought and actions that can benefit society and maybe even the world as a whole. Let me make this clear to you from the beginning, I don't claim to be a saint - in fact, I probably couldn't be further from it - but the code I try to live by is to be myself. When it comes to the crunch, I strive to do the ‘Right Thing’, no matter what! Throughout life, we all have to make choices, so through my companies and brands I choose to support and promote all technologies which help safeguard our planet and prevent the decay of humanity, hoping that more people who love life the way I do will jump onboard to push this ethos forward. I don't think that any one single company or person can change the world, but I do believe that if people UNITE, even just mentally, by wishing each other good will and co-operating, sharing knowledge and experiences, then a positive change will occur. By taking responsibility for what we do and striving to promote the wellbeing of the planet, together we can make the earth a far better place for ourselves and future generations to enjoy. It's funny but I suppose my opinions were forged in the fires of Rave Culture that burned long ago, even before it was given the name 'Rave', and I feel privileged that music helped awaken me and many others who had strayed into negativity and the wrong realm. Consider this. In most cases it takes months, sometimes maybe years for organisations to rally a couple of thousand people to any one cause, no matter what it is. Yet every week, Raves, events and clubs the world over see thousands if not millions of people gathering to celebrate the joy of life. This is not rocket science - Dance Culture has the potential to be a huge instrument of change. It makes you look at things differently doesn’t it - when you see the amount of power we all have in the palm of our hand. That’s why I believe that we as a ‘Dance Nation’ could take a little bit more responsibility, as no matter how clichéd it sounds - we really are the future. Think about it. Otiz F. Angel |
